AIP raised its first fund in 1999, with commitments from a small group of high-net worth individual investors. In 2006, AIP raised its 4th fund, which included its first institutional capital. Additionally, AIP has the ability to take on much larger transactions through partnering with a proprietary network of co-investors as well as tapping additional capital from its deep high net worth investor base.
